  7. SampleUtility is a disk imager and waveform conversion utility for
  8. Professional Audio Samplers.
  9.  
  10. There are three versions of SampleUtility.  This is the UnRegistered
  11. Release.  It is the only version released publicly.
  12.  
  13. All versions provide the capability to READ and WRITE full disk images,
  14. in both double density (DD) and high density (HD) formats.  A disk image
  15. is a conversion of a full disk in to a single file.  This is a good way
  16. to keep backups and to distribute disks through EMail/FTP/BBS.

  18. Most IBM based formats are supported: This includes the Roland series of
  19. samplers.  Additional format support is currently under development.

  23. UnRegistered Release

  26. This is the basic no-frills release.  READ/WRITE of disk images is
  27. supported, but no FORMATing or INFO is available.  This release is hard
  28. coded to use drive 0 and the Topaz font.

  32. Registered Version

  35. This version includes the FORMAT and INFO gadgets and Workbench ToolTypes
  36. support.

  38. The FORMAT gadget provides a way to create formatted disks from any disk
  39. image file.  This is very time saving if you like to have certain
  40. parameters setup a specific way most of the time.  Several disk images
  41. can be used for different default setups.

  43. The INFO gadget will read label, patch, tone, etc. information from a
  44. disk or disk image.  Currently, the Roland series of samplers are
  45. supported.  Additional support is under development.

  47. Workbench ToolTypes are supported to set the default disk drive, default
  48. directories, file extensions, font, and more...

  52. Enhanced Registered Version
  53. ---------------------------

  55. This version includes additional support for translation from many sound
  56. formats.  The following are currently under development: Yamaha TX16W,
  57. Sample Dump Standard (SDX), Roland series samplers, Kurzweil K2000,
  58. Ensoniq series samplers, E-mu EMax, SampleVision (SMP), and many more.
